Wearing a Face Covering/Mask has crept into our new normal as we slowly begin to adventure back out into the world. But as many of you have noticed, our glasses can get quite foggy while wearing a Face Mask. How should we combat such an annoyance?  Here are a 7 tips we have found helpful:

Place a tissue at the top of your mask.

Folding a tissue in half over the top of your mask can help reduce your lenses from fogging up. The tissue helps to block up any gaps in your mask which allows your breath to come through and fog up the lenses. It doesn't completely stop them from fogging, however it does seem to help them from fogging as often.

Moving your glasses a bit further down your nose.

If you move your glasses slightly further down your nose it can help reduce your lenses from fogging up. Moving them down allows for a bit more space for the warm air from your breath to flow before hitting your lenses. However, be careful with this option, moving your glasses down your nose can alter the prescription.

Move your mask up higher.

If you move your mask a bit higher up your nose it can help reduce your lenses from fogging up. This one is similar to the previous one, except now the mask is higher up your nose instead of your glasses further down your nose.

Breathing out of your mouth.

If you breath down out of your mouth the warm air from your breathe gets pushed away from your glasses reducing the amount your lenses fog. This works best when you have steady breath, not so much with labored breath like when going up some stairs.

Soapy Water

A mixture of soapy water on your glasses can help reduce your lenses from fogging up. However, it needs to be reapplied every few hours. Mix soap and water together and apply to lenses with a soft cloth.

Surgical Tape

The idea behind using surgical tape is to tape up the top of the mask, reducing the gap between your face and the mask. This helps because it won't allow your warm breath to get through the top of the mask, in-turn reducing your lenses from fogging.

Anti-Fog Spray/Wipes

Our last suggestion is an Anti-Fog Spray or wipe. These are made to help reduce your lenses from fogging up. They do need to be reapplied over time, how often depends on the Spray/Wipe you get. These products can typically be found in an over the counter pharmacy setting or also commonly online.

Have you tried any of these tricks to help reduce your lenses from fogging up? What worked for you?
