Accommodative Issues

Accommodative issues arise when the focusing system is not functioning properly. This would result in blur at near (if accommodative insufficiency) or potentially blur in the distance and at near (if accommodative excess). At times, the focusing system could be positioning itself poorly for items at near and contribute to headaches when reading or while on the computer.

Your optometric provider at Bridgetown Optometric Associates will complete testing to determine a child’s focusing abilities as a part of a comprehensive examination. This testing will ensure that there are no additional accommodative obstacles in your child’s way to learn all the information needed to succeed in life.
